Reason didn’t earn a one star was due to grouper dish. Ordered six dishes which ended up being over $150. Shishito peppers – fried but not crispy. Very ordinary and easy to make. Tuna tostones felt couple days old with soggy tostones on bottom. Tomato purée did not go with the dish either. Vietnamese chicken ceasar salad was appalling. Overcook chicken with no flavor and nothing about it was Vietnamese. Chef needs to repay a visit there apparently. Grouper was good but not worth $42. You can find a similar dish like that for $7 in asia or $17 max in other restaurants. Desserts were average.

Mamey is a great place for a date or to have a chat with friends and family. The place is nicely decorated. The atmosphere is speakeasy and modern. Our food & drink choices were all Wonderful and tasty. The meat was cooked right, the fish was soft and the rum cake, oh the rum cake was definitely the best part! A must try if you’re at Mamey.. 4/5 due to the prices for the size of the plates. Wish they were just a tad less expensive. Overall, had a good experience.

Mamey is an amazing experience! Our favorite dishes (apps) include the Grilled cheese with Mango Salsa as well as the De-shelled muscles in a delicious sauce. We love all of the main course options. The fish is one of our favorites. This is a great place for dinner!!!

I stopped by Mamey in search of appetizers and dessert. They have the best rum cake I’ve had in my life! The rooftop views are stunning. The ambience and service was top notch. I will be back in the near future…

THE CHEF

It is headed by Bravo’s Top Chef Season 13’s Winner, Chef Jeremy Ford. When the show was filmed, he was Jean-Georges Vongerichten's right-hand man at the Matador Room in Miami Beach. A Florida native, the 32-year-old chef also studied under Ludo Lefebvre in Los Angeles. He has been devoted to cooking since he met his maternal grandmother at the age of 14.
