Great experience staff was very kind. Evan was very friendly and welcoming, took us to our table right away. Nick was our server, we was polite and helpful. Our waters never ran low and our table was always being cleaned. As for the food was great. We ordered the classic stone crab and enjoyed it. I also ordered a burger which was alright (but it’s a crab place I wouldn’t expect too much of it LOL) Overall the ambience of the restaurant was very nice and we both had a great time!

What an experience. I ventured around South Beach for a few days having no success in eating some good seafood. So tried here and it was good. I had never had stone crabs, so i gave them a try. They were good, not as sweet as regular crabs legs but, meaty and more easily accessible then regular crab legs. They were also served cold, which I would’ve preferred them hot and seasoned, but the accompanying sauce tho was delicious. I did the meal deal which consisted of coleslaw, creamed spinach, fried potatoes, stone crabs, and key lime pie for around $80. A pretty good deal. The place has a fascinating history, and beautiful ambience. Service was spectacular and the fact they were in suits gave such a nice old school appeal. The tables were set with linens which was also nice, only draw back would be their flatware, which was frankly quite bland/ugly. I’d definitely go back but to try their other seafood.

If you love crab, you will not find anything better in Miami. Joe’s has the freshest and tastiest crab you can get, and the quality is superior. The best part about this fancy restaurant is that they also have a “takeaway” restaurant adjacent to the main one, allowing for a more casual dining experience while still boasting incredible quality. We got some stone crab claws but I forget to get a photo as we were devouring the incredible meat.I also got their crab cakes which are 2 huge crab cakes that are 95% crab. I appreciate that they don’t skimp on the crab meat for these, as other restaurants in the US put little crab. The breading on them was excellent and crispy, and the homemade tartar sauce was out of this world. We also got their skinny fried sweets (sweet potato fries). These are so delicious, especially since they are lightly coated in cinnamon sugar.Overall, the experience was phenomenal and the crab is to die for. You do not want to miss this opportunity if you are in the area!

My husband and I finally got to visit Joe’s and it’s definitely a must when visiting Miami. Of course we got the stone crab which was served cold with a delicious mustard/ mayo sauce. We also got the snow crab boil – the broth was perfectly salty so you could dip the potatoes and corn in it. The clam chowder was my favorite – it was as good Pike Place clam chowder in Seattle which is the best clam chowder I have tasted. We ended our delicious feast with a slice of their famous key lime pie. I am not a fan of pies but this was a perfect combination of tart , sweet and creamy with a nutty Graham cracker base. We will definitely be back here again on our next Miami visit.

Iconic location in South Beach! Dress code especially at night, but during the day you can sit on the outdoor patio in flip flop and shorts. They have a take out place next door that’s just as good. The service here is pretty excellent too. The wait staff was very professional and knew the menu well and could answer any questions. The restaurant is slightly overpriced, but your only able to get stone crab around the keys so it’s justified imo.We went here for lunch and shared some Large Stone Crab, their Bisque, and a Wedge Salad. There’s complimentary bread too that’s pretty great. The Stone Crab is a bit sweeter than your regular crab and is paired with a mustard sauce. Tasty combo with a spritz of lemon. It was the perfect size meal to split!I would come back since it’s just so well known and classic South Beach dining location.

Overall my friends and I enjoyed our experience at Joe’s. The service was excellent and the food was top quality and delicious. The reason for only 3 stars would be our potato hash browns were burnt as you can see and we’re not seasoned. Also, my friend and I were told the seafood combo was enough to share when really it wasn’t (as one entree for 2 people). The sides were plentiful to share, it was some of the best creamed spinach and brussel sprouts we have ever had. They key lime pie was great too. The seafood was excellent quality and delicious, I just wish they would’ve said, “this is about two pieces of each seafood item” then we would’ve ordered more. Other than that it was excellent and we will return.

ABOUT

This classic South Beach establishment is known for its fresh stone crab claws and long wait times

South Florida’s most famous restaurant, Joe’s (which turned 100 in 2013) is as much a Miami must-see as Ocean Drive. It attracts locals, tourists and celebs, serving seasonal stone crabs (October–May) with a “secret” sauce, garlic creamed spinach, fried sweet potatoes, coleslaw and hash browns. If you don’t like seafood, try the fried chicken, or the liver and onions. Joe’s doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared for a horrendously long wait, first to register your name, then for a table.

Time Out tip: Skip the wait at Joe’s Take Away next door, where you get the same fresh claws at the same price without the long lines. Plus, this is where you’ll find some of the best fried chicken in town for less than $10.
