THE CHEF

It is headed by Bravo’s Top Chef Season 13’s Winner, Chef Jeremy Ford. When the show was filmed, he was Jean-Georges Vongerichten's right-hand man at the Matador Room in Miami Beach. A Florida native, the 32-year-old chef also studied under Ludo Lefebvre in Los Angeles. He has been devoted to cooking since he met his maternal grandmother at the age of 14.

I can’t believe I’ve never been here before because this place is one of the oldest Cuban restaurants in South Miami by MIA. It has a lot of history since they have been open since 1968 but don’t be discouraged by its age because the space is updated and modern. The food is refined Cuban classics accompanied by craft cocktails.

We started with the Empanadas de Rabo (oxtail) and these were bursting with flavor and piping hot. The out shell was perfectly crisp too. We also go the Pulpo La Rosa which was also perfectly cooked. Not rubbery. For the main entrees, we ordered the Tob Sirloin Butt and the Cordero al Vino Both were impressive. The steak was nicely grilled and the lamb shank was fall of the bone. Both were juicy too. If I was to choose my fave, I’ll go for the Lamb Shank again. For dessert, we opted for the Crema Catalana which was a Cuban-style Creme Brulee. Dam it was very delicious. Not too sweet and the caramelized top was crunchy. A perfect ending to a satisfying dinner. Also, we ordered a couple of rounds of drinks. I got the old-fashioned and my friend got the blueberry mojito. Trust me, you will be impressed by the presentation as they served both smoked inside a glass dome.

Love this place from the service, and ambiance to the high-quality food. This is a great spot for a celebration with friends or family or even a romantic date. It truly rivals super high-end restaurants and you dont have to spend an arm and a leg. Just bring your appetite 🙂

This is upscale, fine dining. It’s a nice place to bring a loved one or a business partner to impress. If you’re looking for a typical pan con bistec, try any restaurant down the street as this is not that kind of place! The service was really good and the food was excellent. From the presentation and taste, to how it is brought to the table, the new owners know how to run a high-class restaurant. La Rosa has been here for several decades, and has always aspired to represent the more formal side of Cuban cuisine. From Croquetas de Rabo (Oxtail) to Masitas de Puerco (Pork Chunks), Cordero al Vino (Lamb), and Branzino (Fish), etc. they have lots of good choices for any palate type. And of course they have the typical arroz con pollo, plátanos maduros, if you are not the adventurous kind. As for me, I will definitely visit again. I’m looking forward to try their other dishes.

I love this restaurant. Food is delicious and price is great. We had a bad experience at the airport the day we went to this restaurant. The service and food lifted out of our spirits right back up. I had lamb shank in an amazing sauce. My wife had an awesome and delicious salmon. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Loved, loved, loved my pork chop. It had delicious flavor and I took it back to my hotel and ate it the next morning for breakfast and it was just as juicy and flavorful as the night I had it. Sangria was absolutely amazing as well. Very pricey and upscale but the food was delicious.

Food was very salty and we were charged for water $5 a bottle. The bottle fill a wine glass 1.5 times. The flank steak was very greasy and was sitting in a pool of grease. Made the food taste only of grease. The upside were the wait staff. They were very accommodating and professional.
