Privacy policy
What we hold about you, which is very little: no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing sold to anyone.
Last updated 10 September 2026.
The short version
You can read the whole site without an account and without being tracked. We run no advertising, sell nothing to anyone, and set no analytics or advertising cookies. If you make an account we hold your username, your email and what you write, and nothing else.
What we hold
If you only read
Our server records the usual web request log: the address requested, the time, the browser’s user agent and the IP address it came from. That is what keeps the site running and lets us spot abuse. It is not linked to a person and is not used to build a profile of you.
If you have an account
- Your username, and a display name if you set one.
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to reach you about your account.
- Your password, stored only as a scrypt hash with its own salt. We never see the password itself and cannot recover it.
- The pixel avatar you picked, which is a pair of names rather than an uploaded image.
- Anything you write in your bio.
- Your reviews, their ratings, and whether each has been approved.
- A session identifier, so you stay signed in.
We ask for nothing else. There is no phone number, no address, no date of birth, no payment details, and no photograph upload anywhere on this site.
What we do with it
- Sign you in and keep you signed in.
- Publish your approved reviews under your username, on your profile and on the page of the place they are about.
- Read reviews before publishing them, and contact you about one if we need to.
- Keep the site working and free of abuse.
We do not sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. We do not send marketing email. There is no third-party analytics on this site.
What other people can see
Your username, display name, avatar, bio, published reviews and the month you joined are public on your profile. Your email address is not, and neither are reviews that have not been approved: those are visible only to you and to us.
Other companies involved
Three things load from elsewhere when you use this site:
- Google Fonts serves the two typefaces, so Google receives the request for the font file.
- OpenStreetMap serves the map tiles, so its servers receive the request for the tiles you look at.
- YouTube serves the videos embedded in some guides, and sets its own cookies once a video loads.
Photographs are the exception, and deliberately so: they are fetched by our server and passed on to you, so your browser never contacts Google for them and Google never sees your IP address on a photo request.
Place data comes from Google’s Places API, which our server calls. Those calls carry no information about you.
How long we keep it
- Account details: until you close the account.
- Reviews: until you delete them or ask us to.
- Sign-in sessions: thirty days, then they expire and are cleared.
- Server logs: a short operational window, then they roll off.
What you can ask for
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete your account and everything on it, or send you a copy of your reviews. Editing your profile does most of this yourself. There is no charge and no hoop to jump through.
Children
This site is not intended for children. Do not create an account if you are under 16. Tell us if a child has, and we will remove it.
Security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in the clear. Sign-in cookies are marked HttpOnly so no script can read them, and SameSite so they are not sent from other sites. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. Questions, or a request about your own information, go through the contact page.
Who holds your information
Feeling Yachty S.A., incorporated in the Republic of Panama, decides what is collected here and why. Panama's Law 81 of 2019 on the protection of personal data is the law this site is run under, and any complaint about how your information is handled is heard in the courts of Panama City.
Where you are reading from does not change what we hold. The rights below are offered to everybody who asks, whether or not the law where you live requires it, because operating one policy for everybody is simpler than operating four and getting one of them wrong.
Your information is stored on servers outside Panama and outside the United States. Asking us anything about it, including to delete it, is a message on the contact page and gets a reply from a person.
