Great little park in an amazing location. Lots of history here. I went on a summer weekday when the traffic in the park was very light and it was a great time to see the sights. Mainly fishermen along the sea walls and a few people on the beach but no crowds at all. Go on a day when the lighthouse is open and enjoy the views of the city and bay. There’s a good bike path and I managed to get in 5 miles touring around the park. Beautiful beaches. Nice harbor. This place must be very busy on the weekends.

This state park has a very nice beach that’s perfect for small kids, as it’s fairly shallow. Gorgeous views from the fishing side of the park. It has picnic areas, a fishing pier, and even a birding trail. Be warned, April-October, large amounts of sargassum seaweed make it to the shore and can be a bit stinky when it decomposes. As of June 2022, it’s $8 per car for entry.

We weren’t able to walk all the paths but for the little we were able to see and do, it is well worth a 2 dollar per pedestrian entry. Beaches here are some of the best in this area! The old light house is well taken care of and the light house cafe was small but friendly with some basic lunch fare such as sandwiches and salads. The black bean soup is my recommendation.

Nice and peaceful park. They have bike rentals at the parking lot, including the fun surrey/quad bikes for the family. No lack of walking and nature trails, tons of iguanas, historic lighthouse, and plenty of picnic space. The beach is super nice as well. Would recommend bringing cash as the bike place doesn’t accept cards and sometimes the machine in the park entry booths doesn’t work as well. Great for families and couples

Nature lovers and adventure seekers will find Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park to be a true oasis. It is no wonder that this beach has been ranked among the top ten beaches in the country since it offers untouched beaches, a historic lighthouse, and endless recreational opportunities. You can cycle through the park, kayak along the coast, or climb the lighthouse for a breathtaking view.

It doesn't end there, though! Additionally, the park offers hiking and biking trails that wind through its mangrove forests, giving visitors beautiful views of the surrounding area. If you prefer a more active adventure, you can rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard at the marina and explore the park's waterways.

In addition to its natural beauty, the park's rich history is also fascinating. The lighthouse was built in 1825 and has survived wars, fires, and hurricanes. It continues to guide sailors to safety today. Bill Baggs has something to offer everyone, whether they're looking for a wild adventure or a peaceful escape."

You can enjoy a meal with friends and family in the picnic areas and grills when you're ready for a break. There's also the Cape Florida Lighthouse in the park, which is the oldest structure in Miami-Dade County.
